Curls
1 package Soy Curls
Water to cover Soy Curls
BBQ Sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup Sriracha sauce or other hot sauce you prefer – adjust based on your preference for heat
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup molasses – I don’t like blackstrap molasses, so I use regular
1/4 cup soy sauce
Let soy curls soak in water for 10 minutes in a medium bowl and then drain. Make sure the curls are well covered. They absorb quite a bit of water while re-hydrating.
While curls are soaking mix sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
After draining soy curls, place drained curls in skillet on stovetop over high heat. I use a light spritz of cooking spray so curls don’t stick. I don’t use non-stick cookware and the spritz helps prevent leaving a lot of the soy curls in the pan.
When the curls are slightly brown add the sauce and lower the heat. Stir the curls and sauce together to thoroughly coat the curls with the sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally for 10 to 15 minutes. Plate and serve or serve in the pan.
